Jing Ke’s Assassination Attempt – Conflict Between Yan and Qin
Jing Ke was an assassin chosen by the state of Yan. He was not merely a killer, but a man who understood and accepted his mission. Yan entrusted him with the task of eliminating the king of Qin. This event marked the moment when conflict between two states was transferred into the choice of an individual.
Jing Ke secured the conditions necessary to enter Qin as an envoy. He approached the court by presenting the head of Fan Wuqi, who held resentment against Qin, and carrying a map of the Dukang region of Yan. This plan was not a simple infiltration, but a carefully designed approach. Everything was prepared for a single opportunity.
The Failed Assassination of Qin Shi Huang – Power and Risk
