How humans continue living forward despite uncertainty, contradiction, and absurdity?

Absurdity reaches its limit when explanation can no longer move beyond the recognition of contradiction itself.

Human understanding constantly attempts to resolve inconsistency through explanation. People search for causes behind failure, reasons behind suffering, and patterns capable of organizing uncertainty into coherent meaning. Much of human knowledge develops through this movement toward explanation and resolution.

In many areas of life, increased knowledge successfully reduces confusion. Scientific understanding expands prediction, social analysis clarifies patterns, and experience often improves judgment. Humans therefore tend to believe that contradiction will eventually disappear if enough explanation becomes available.

However, absurdity reveals a boundary within this expectation. Some contradictions remain visible even after extensive explanation. In these situations, knowledge may deepen awareness of inconsistency rather than eliminate it.

This is the point where understanding gradually transforms into recognition. The individual no longer expects every contradiction to dissolve completely. Instead, contradiction itself becomes recognized as part of the structure of existence.

The End of Explanation

Explanation functions by connecting structures together. It links cause and effect, intention and outcome, action and consequence. Through these connections, humans attempt to stabilize reality into understandable form.

Yet some experiences resist complete explanation. A person may work sincerely for years without understanding why recognition never arrives. Another may repeatedly encounter misunderstanding inside relationships despite honest communication and effort. Explanation may clarify parts of these situations, but not fully resolve the contradiction itself.

At a certain point, additional analysis no longer removes inconsistency. Instead, it reveals how deeply contradiction is woven into the structure being examined. The search for complete explanation begins reaching its limit.

This does not mean explanation becomes useless. Rather, it means that explanation cannot always eliminate the tension between expectation and reality completely.

The Boundary of Knowledge

Knowledge expands human capacity to describe, predict, and organize reality. Scientific systems, philosophical inquiry, historical analysis, and technological development all increase the range of what humans can understand.

However, expanding knowledge does not eliminate every form of uncertainty. The more complex reality becomes, the more visible certain limits also appear. Some conditions remain partially indeterminate no matter how much information is gathered.

Absurdity exists near this boundary. It does not emerge simply because humans lack knowledge. Instead, it appears because knowledge itself cannot fully align expectation with reality.

For example, people may understand the psychological, social, or economic causes behind suffering while still being unable to fully resolve the contradiction between human meaning and lived experience. Explanation expands, yet tension remains.

This reveals that the limit of understanding is not always ignorance. Sometimes the limit appears within understanding itself.

Acceptance Without Resolution

When explanation reaches its boundary, a different form of response becomes possible. Instead of endlessly attempting to eliminate contradiction, individuals may begin acknowledging its persistence directly.

Acceptance in this sense does not mean surrender or passivity. It means recognizing that some contradictions cannot be completely resolved while continuing to exist and act within them.

For instance, a person may realize that not every failure can be fully explained and yet continue working sincerely. Another may recognize that relationships will always contain misunderstanding while still choosing emotional openness and connection.

In these situations, engagement with existence continues without requiring total resolution first. The individual no longer depends on final explanation in order to continue participating in life.

Acceptance therefore changes the structure of response. The movement shifts from solving contradiction entirely to continuing within its presence consciously.

The Final Position of Absurdity

Absurdity as a final condition does not close inquiry completely. Humans continue questioning, analyzing, interpreting, and searching for understanding. However, contradiction itself remains structurally present even at the furthest limits of explanation.

This creates a stable position rather than a final solution. The individual recognizes that complete coherence may never fully arrive, yet existence continues unfolding through action, interpretation, and experience.

At this stage, absurdity no longer appears merely as a temporary disruption. It becomes visible as one of the conditions through which human existence operates. Understanding does not erase contradiction. Instead, understanding reaches the point where contradiction itself becomes recognized clearly.

Absurdity is therefore not eliminated by knowledge. It remains present even at the limits of explanation, where understanding gradually transforms into recognition.

부조리는 설명이 더 이상 모순을 넘어설 수 없게 되는 지점에서 최종 조건으로 드러납니다.

인간의 이해는 끊임없이 불일치를 설명으로 해결하려 합니다. 사람들은 실패의 원인을 찾고, 고통의 이유를 설명하며, 불확실한 현실 속에서 질서와 의미를 발견하려 합니다. 인간의 지식은 대부분 이러한 설명과 해석의 확장을 통해 발전해 왔습니다.

실제로 많은 영역에서 지식은 혼란을 줄여왔습니다. 과학은 예측 가능성을 높였고, 사회 분석은 반복되는 패턴을 드러냈으며, 경험은 인간의 판단을 더 정교하게 만들었습니다. 그래서 인간은 충분한 설명이 축적되면 결국 모순 역시 사라질 것이라고 기대하게 됩니다.

그러나 부조리는 이러한 기대 안에 존재하는 경계를 드러냅니다. 어떤 모순들은 충분한 설명 이후에도 끝내 사라지지 않습니다. 오히려 설명이 깊어질수록 그 모순이 얼마나 지속적인 구조인지를 더 선명하게 인식하게 되는 경우도 있습니다.

바로 이 지점에서 이해는 점차 인식으로 바뀌기 시작합니다. 인간은 더 이상 모든 모순이 완전히 해결될 것이라고 기대하지 않습니다. 대신 모순 자체가 존재의 구조 안에 포함되어 있다는 사실을 인식하게 됩니다.

설명의 끝

설명은 서로 떨어진 요소들을 연결함으로써 작동합니다. 인간은 원인과 결과, 의도와 결과, 행동과 결과를 연결하면서 현실을 이해 가능한 형태로 만들려 합니다.

그러나 어떤 경험들은 끝내 완전한 설명을 허용하지 않습니다. 어떤 사람은 오랜 시간 성실하게 살아왔음에도 왜 인정받지 못하는지 끝내 이해하지 못할 수 있습니다. 또 어떤 사람은 진심 어린 관계를 반복하면서도 계속 오해와 충돌을 경험할 수 있습니다. 설명은 상황의 일부를 이해하게 만들 수는 있지만, 모순 자체를 완전히 제거하지는 못합니다.

어느 순간부터 추가적인 분석은 더 이상 불일치를 해결하지 못하게 됩니다. 대신 그 모순이 구조 속에 얼마나 깊게 포함되어 있는지를 드러내기 시작합니다. 설명은 계속 확장되지만, 동시에 자신의 한계 역시 드러내게 되는 것입니다.

이것은 설명이 무의미하다는 뜻이 아닙니다. 다만 설명이 기대와 현실 사이의 긴장을 완전히 제거할 수는 없다는 사실을 보여줍니다.

지식의 경계

지식은 인간이 현실을 설명하고 예측하며 조직할 수 있는 범위를 계속 확장시켜 왔습니다. 과학과 철학, 역사 분석과 기술 발전은 모두 인간 이해의 영역을 넓혀 왔습니다.

그러나 지식의 확장이 모든 불확실성을 제거하는 것은 아닙니다. 현실이 복잡해질수록 오히려 인간은 어떤 한계 역시 함께 인식하게 됩니다. 아무리 많은 정보를 축적하더라도 완전히 결정할 수 없는 조건들이 계속 남아 있습니다.

부조리는 바로 이러한 경계 근처에서 나타납니다. 그것은 단순히 인간이 충분히 알지 못하기 때문에 발생하는 것이 아닙니다. 오히려 지식 자체가 기대와 현실을 완전히 일치시키지 못하기 때문에 드러나는 구조입니다.

예를 들어 인간은 고통과 불공정의 심리적, 사회적, 경제적 원인을 상당 부분 설명할 수 있습니다. 그러나 그렇다고 해서 인간이 느끼는 의미의 요구와 실제 삶 사이의 충돌이 완전히 사라지는 것은 아닙니다. 설명은 늘어나지만 긴장은 계속 남아 있습니다.

이 사실은 이해의 한계가 단순한 무지에만 존재하는 것이 아니라는 점을 보여줍니다. 때로는 이해 자체가 깊어질수록 오히려 한계 역시 더 선명하게 드러납니다.

해결 없는 수용

설명이 한계에 도달하면 인간은 다른 방식의 대응을 시작하게 됩니다. 인간은 더 이상 모든 모순을 완전히 제거하려 하기보다, 그것이 지속된다는 사실 자체를 인정하기 시작합니다.

여기서 말하는 수용은 체념이나 무기력을 의미하지 않습니다. 그것은 어떤 모순들은 완전히 해결될 수 없다는 사실을 인식한 상태에서도 계속 살아가고 행동하는 것을 뜻합니다.

예를 들어 어떤 사람은 모든 실패가 완전히 설명될 수 없다는 사실을 이해하면서도 여전히 자신의 일을 계속할 수 있습니다. 또 어떤 사람은 관계 안에 오해가 끝내 사라지지 않을 수 있다는 사실을 알면서도 계속 누군가와 관계를 맺고 마음을 열기를 선택합니다.

이 경우 인간은 완전한 해결이 확보된 이후에야 삶에 참여하는 것이 아닙니다. 해결되지 않은 조건 속에서도 계속 존재와 관계를 맺으며 살아갑니다.

이 지점에서 인간의 대응 방식 역시 달라집니다. 삶은 더 이상 모든 모순을 제거하는 방향으로만 움직이지 않습니다. 인간은 모순이 존재하는 상태 자체 안에서 계속 살아가는 법을 배우기 시작합니다.

부조리의 최종 위치

최종 조건으로서의 부조리는 질문 자체를 끝내는 상태가 아닙니다. 인간은 여전히 질문하고, 분석하고, 해석하며, 이해를 확장하려 합니다. 그러나 설명이 가장 멀리 도달한 이후에도 모순 자체는 끝내 구조 안에 남아 있습니다.

이것은 하나의 최종 해답이라기보다 안정된 위치에 가깝습니다. 인간은 완전한 일관성과 최종 의미가 끝내 도달하지 않을 수 있다는 사실을 인식하면서도 계속 살아갑니다. 존재는 여전히 행동과 해석, 경험 속에서 이어집니다.

이 단계에서 부조리는 더 이상 일시적인 혼란처럼 보이지 않습니다. 그것은 인간 존재 자체가 작동하는 하나의 조건으로 드러나기 시작합니다. 이해는 모순을 제거하지 못합니다. 대신 이해는 결국 모순 자체를 선명하게 인식하는 지점에 도달하게 됩니다.

부조리는 지식에 의해 제거되지 않습니다. 그것은 설명이 도달할 수 있는 마지막 경계에서도 여전히 남아 있는 조건으로 인간 앞에 존재합니다.
