In the center of the battlefield of Kurukshetra, a vast and chaotic battle unfolds beneath clouds of dust and war banners. Bhishma stands upon his chariot drawing his bow while arrows rain across the battlefield around him and countless warriors fall before his attacks. On another side of the field, Drona commands soldiers and chariots with the discipline of an experienced military leader. Nearby, Karna enters the battle upon his chariot holding his bow with fierce determination. Amid the immense scale and confusion of the war, these three warriors stand out as the central figures shaping the fate of the battlefield.
Mahabharata Episode 7 – The Center of the War
As the war of Kurukshetra continues, Bhishma, Drona, and Karna emerge as the great warriors who shape the fate of the battlefield.
The war of Kurukshetra continues day after day without pause. Across the battlefield stand some of the greatest warriors of the age, each carrying enormous skill, reputation, and personal history into the conflict. What began as a struggle between two branches of the Kuru dynasty has now become a vast war involving the strongest fighters of their generation. As commanders rise and fall, the direction of the war constantly changes. In the middle of this destruction, three warriors gradually come to dominate the battlefield: Bhishma, Drona, and Karna.
The Battle of Bhishma
During the early stage of the war, the Kaurava army is led by Bhishma. He is one of the oldest and most respected figures within the Kuru dynasty, known throughout India for his wisdom, discipline, and military strength. Although advanced in age, he still possesses overwhelming skill as a warrior and commander.
Standing at the front of the Kaurava forces, Bhishma leads the battlefield with terrifying power. His arrows strike down countless opponents while the Pandava army struggles to advance against him. The experience and discipline he gained over many years make him one of the most dangerous figures in the entire war.
The Pandava warriors quickly realize that defeating ordinary soldiers will not change the course of the battle while Bhishma continues leading the army. As long as he remains on the battlefield, the Kaurava side continues holding enormous military advantage.
Eventually the Pandava brothers begin searching desperately for a way to stop him. The war grows more tragic because Bhishma is not only an enemy commander but also a respected elder connected to both sides of the royal family. The battlefield forces even family loyalty itself into conflict.
The Battle of Drona
After Bhishma leaves the battlefield, command of the Kaurava army passes to Drona. He had once been the teacher of both the Pandava and Kaurava princes during their youth. Many of the warriors now fighting each other first learned the arts of war directly from him.
Drona enters the battlefield not only as a teacher but also as a highly skilled commander and strategist. His understanding of warfare allows him to organize devastating attacks against the Pandava army. Under his leadership the war becomes even more violent and destructive.
For the Pandava brothers, fighting Drona carries deep emotional conflict. The man they must defeat is also the teacher who trained them in combat and discipline. Once again the war forces students and teachers, family and loyalty, into direct confrontation.
As the days of battle continue, losses grow heavier across both armies. The battlefield becomes increasingly filled with exhaustion, grief, and destruction. Yet despite the suffering surrounding them, neither side is willing to retreat or surrender.
The Rise of Karna
As the war moves into its later stages, Karna rises to the center of the battlefield. For many years he has stood beside Duryodhana as his closest ally and most loyal supporter. Throughout his life Karna has carried both extraordinary talent and deep resentment connected to his place within society and the royal world.
Now the war finally gives him the opportunity to prove his strength before everyone. Karna enters the battlefield as one of the greatest warriors remaining within the Kaurava army. His presence immediately changes the atmosphere of the conflict.
Karna is especially known for his long rivalry with Arjuna. Both warriors recognize each other as equals possessing unmatched skill and determination. Their conflict is not only military but also deeply personal, shaped by years of pride, rivalry, and wounded honor.
As Karna rises, the war moves steadily toward its final and most tragic stage. The conflict between the Pandavas and Kauravas has already destroyed countless lives, yet the greatest confrontations still remain ahead. Kurukshetra continues moving toward an ending filled with both victory and irreversible loss.

쿠루크셰트라의 거대한 전장 한가운데에서 전쟁이 격렬하게 이어지고 있습니다. 먼지와 깃발, 무너진 전차들이 뒤섞인 혼란 속에서 비슈마는 자신의 전차 위에 서서 활을 당기고 있으며, 그의 화살은 빗발처럼 전장을 가로질러 날아가고 있습니다. 주변에는 수많은 전사들이 쓰러지고 있으며, 전장의 다른 한쪽에서는 드로나가 병사들과 전차를 지휘하며 냉정하게 전투를 이끌고 있습니다. 또 다른 방향에서는 카르나가 전차 위에서 활을 든 채 거센 결의로 전장 안으로 뛰어들고 있습니다. 거대한 전쟁과 혼란 속에서도 화면 중심에는 비슈마와 드로나, 카르나 세 전사가 전장의 흐름을 움직이는 핵심 인물들로 강조되고 있습니다.
마하바라타 7화 – 전쟁의 중심
쿠루크셰트라 전쟁이 계속되는 동안 비슈마와 드로나, 카르나는 전장의 흐름을 결정짓는 중심 전사들로 떠오르게 됩니다.
쿠루크셰트라 전쟁은 멈추지 않은 채 여러 날 동안 계속 이어집니다. 전장 위에는 당시 시대를 대표하는 가장 위대한 전사들이 서로를 향해 싸우고 있었습니다. 쿠루 왕조 내부에서 시작된 갈등은 이제 단순한 왕가의 싸움을 넘어 가장 강력한 전사들이 충돌하는 거대한 전쟁으로 변해 있었습니다. 지휘관들이 쓰러지고 새로운 전사들이 중심에 등장할 때마다 전쟁의 흐름 역시 계속 바뀌게 됩니다. 그 과정 속에서 세 명의 전사가 점차 전장의 중심 인물로 떠오르게 됩니다. 바로 비슈마와 드로나, 그리고 카르나였습니다.
비슈마의 전투
전쟁 초반 카우라바 군대를 이끄는 인물은 비슈마였습니다. 그는 쿠루 왕조 안에서 가장 존경받는 원로 가운데 한 사람이었으며, 인도 전역에서 지혜와 절제, 강력한 무력으로 유명한 존재였습니다. 나이가 많았음에도 그는 여전히 압도적인 힘을 가진 전사였습니다.
비슈마는 카우라바 군대의 선두에 서서 전장을 지휘합니다. 그의 화살은 수많은 적들을 쓰러뜨렸고, 판다바 군대는 그를 막아 내는 데 큰 어려움을 겪게 됩니다. 오랜 세월 동안 쌓아 온 경험과 전투 능력은 그를 전쟁 전체에서 가장 위험한 존재 가운데 하나로 만들고 있었습니다.
판다바 형제들은 곧 비슈마가 계속 전장을 지휘하는 한 전쟁의 흐름을 바꾸기 어렵다는 사실을 깨닫게 됩니다. 평범한 병사들을 쓰러뜨리는 것만으로는 전쟁을 끝낼 수 없었습니다. 비슈마는 카우라바 군대 전체를 움직이는 중심 그 자체였기 때문입니다.
그러나 이 싸움을 더욱 비극적으로 만드는 것은 비슈마가 단순한 적장이 아니라 양쪽 왕가 모두와 연결된 존경받는 어른이었다는 점입니다. 전쟁은 이제 가족에 대한 존중과 충성마저 서로 충돌하게 만들고 있었습니다.
드로나의 전투
비슈마가 전장에서 물러난 뒤 카우라바 군대의 지휘권은 드로나에게 넘어가게 됩니다. 그는 과거 판다바와 카우라바 왕자들에게 무술과 전쟁 기술을 가르쳤던 스승이었습니다. 지금 서로를 향해 싸우고 있는 많은 전사들은 처음 전투를 배우던 시절 모두 드로나에게서 훈련받았던 사람들이었습니다.
드로나는 단순한 스승이 아니라 매우 뛰어난 전략가이자 지휘관이었습니다. 그는 전쟁의 흐름을 정확하게 읽으며 판다바 군대를 강하게 압박합니다. 그의 지휘 아래 전쟁은 이전보다 더욱 치열하고 파괴적인 단계로 들어가게 됩니다.
판다바 형제들에게 드로나와의 싸움은 깊은 감정적 갈등을 만들어 냅니다. 자신들이 쓰러뜨려야 하는 상대는 단순한 적장이 아니라 자신들을 가르쳤던 스승이었기 때문입니다. 전쟁은 계속해서 스승과 제자, 충성과 의무를 서로 충돌하게 만들고 있었습니다.
전쟁이 계속될수록 양쪽 군대의 피해 역시 더욱 커져 갑니다. 전장은 점점 피로와 슬픔, 죽음으로 가득 차게 됩니다. 그러나 엄청난 희생 속에서도 어느 쪽도 물러서려 하지 않았습니다.
카르나의 등장
전쟁이 후반부로 들어가면서 카르나는 전장의 중심 인물로 떠오르게 됩니다. 그는 오랫동안 두료다나의 가장 가까운 동맹이자 충성스러운 친구로 살아왔습니다. 뛰어난 재능을 가지고 있었지만 자신의 출신과 사회적 위치 때문에 깊은 상처와 분노를 안고 살아온 인물이기도 했습니다.
이제 전쟁은 마침내 카르나가 자신의 힘을 증명할 기회를 만들어 주게 됩니다. 그는 카우라바 군대 안에서 가장 강력한 전사 가운데 하나로 전장 중심에 등장합니다. 그의 존재는 전쟁의 분위기 자체를 다시 바꾸어 놓기 시작합니다.
카르나는 특히 아르주나와의 오랜 경쟁 관계로 잘 알려져 있었습니다. 두 사람은 서로를 가장 강력한 상대라고 인정하고 있었으며, 그들의 대립은 단순한 전투 이상의 의미를 가지고 있었습니다. 자존심과 상처, 경쟁과 명예가 오랜 시간 동안 두 전사 사이에 쌓여 있었던 것입니다.
카르나가 중심에 등장하면서 전쟁은 점점 마지막 단계로 향하게 됩니다. 판다바와 카우라바의 갈등은 이미 수많은 생명을 파괴했지만, 가장 거대한 충돌은 아직 끝나지 않았습니다. 쿠루크셰트라 전쟁은 이제 승리와 함께 되돌릴 수 없는 상실로 향해 움직이고 있었습니다.
