Across a vast ocean beneath a wide horizon, countless monkey warriors work together to build a bridge toward the distant island of Lanka. Massive stones and tree trunks are carried across the shore while a long path of rock and wood slowly stretches over the sea. Far away, the island kingdom of Lanka rises against the horizon, waiting beyond the water. On one side of the scene stand Rama, Lakshmana, and Hanuman watching the construction with determination and silence. The atmosphere emphasizes cooperation, endurance, and preparation as the bridge across the ocean becomes the road leading toward the coming war.
Ramayana Episode 7 – The Road to Lanka
Rama and the monkey army prepare to cross the sea after finally learning that Sita is being held inside the island kingdom of Lanka.
Rama and his allies eventually discover that Sita has been taken to Lanka. Yet Lanka lies far beyond the forests and mountains they have already crossed. Protected by the sea and surrounded by powerful walls, the island kingdom appears difficult to reach. In order to rescue Sita, Rama and the monkey army must first overcome the vast ocean standing before them.
The Bridge Across the Sea
When Rama’s army reaches the shore, the endless sea appears like an impossible barrier blocking their path. Waves continue moving across the water while the distant island of Lanka remains far beyond reach. For a moment the army stands before the ocean uncertain how such a massive force could ever cross to the other side.
Yet the monkey warriors refuse to abandon the journey. Instead of turning back, they begin searching for a way to move forward together. Under the leadership of their commanders, the warriors gather enormous stones, broken rocks, and tree trunks from the surrounding forests and mountains.
Countless warriors work side by side carrying materials toward the sea. Huge rocks are pushed into the water while trees are laid across the growing structure. Day after day the labor continues as the bridge slowly stretches farther across the ocean.
What first appeared impossible gradually begins to take shape before the eyes of the army. At last a long bridge connecting the mainland to Lanka is completed. The path across the sea becomes proof of the determination and cooperation shared by Rama’s allies.
The Army Marches Toward Lanka
After the bridge is completed, Rama’s army finally begins crossing the sea. Thousands of monkey warriors move together across the narrow path while weapons, supplies, and banners advance toward the distant island. The movement of the army transforms the bridge into the road leading directly toward war.
At the front of the advancing force stand Rama, Lakshmana, and Hanuman. Together they continue forward while the walls and towers of Lanka slowly become visible across the horizon. Beyond the sea waits the kingdom where Sita is being held and where the coming battle will soon begin.
As the army approaches the island, the atmosphere grows heavier with tension and expectation. The long search that began after Sita’s abduction is finally leading Rama toward his enemy. What began as exile within the forest has now expanded into a conflict between entire kingdoms.
The crossing of the sea marks an important turning point in the Ramayana. Until now the story has focused on searching, wandering, and preparing. Once the army reaches Lanka, the narrative moves fully toward open war.
Preparing for War
As Rama’s forces approach Lanka, preparations for battle begin throughout the army. Warriors organize themselves into groups while checking weapons and preparing for the conflict ahead. The excitement and fear of the coming battle spread through the ranks as everyone understands that a great struggle is now close.
Rama and his allies know that the war ahead will decide far more than the rescue of Sita alone. The conflict has grown into a struggle involving loyalty, justice, pride, and the fate of entire kingdoms. Each warrior prepares himself for a battle that may change the future forever.
Inside Lanka, Ravana also begins preparing his own army for war. Confident in the strength of his fortress and soldiers, he believes that no invading force will be able to defeat him. The island kingdom becomes filled with tension as both sides move steadily closer toward conflict.
Soon the two armies will stand facing one another before the walls of Lanka. The long journey across forests, mountains, and oceans has finally led to the moment just before the greatest battle of the Ramayana begins.

라마야나 7화 – 랑카로 향하는 길
라마와 원숭이 군대는 시타가 랑카에 있다는 사실을 알게 된 뒤 바다를 건너기 위한 준비를 시작합니다.
라마와 그의 동료들은 마침내 시타가 랑카에 붙잡혀 있다는 사실을 알게 됩니다. 그러나 랑카는 지금까지 지나온 숲과 산 너머, 거대한 바다 건너편에 있는 섬 왕국이었습니다. 높은 성벽과 바다로 보호된 그곳은 쉽게 도달할 수 없는 장소처럼 보였습니다. 시타를 되찾기 위해서는 먼저 눈앞에 펼쳐진 거대한 바다를 넘어야만 했습니다.
바다를 가로지르는 다리
라마의 군대가 바닷가에 도착했을 때 끝없이 이어지는 바다는 거대한 장벽처럼 보였습니다. 파도는 계속 움직이고 있었고, 멀리 있는 랑카의 섬은 쉽게 닿을 수 없는 곳처럼 느껴졌습니다. 한동안 군대는 어떻게 이 거대한 바다를 건널 수 있을지 알지 못한 채 해안 앞에 멈춰 서게 됩니다.
그러나 원숭이 전사들은 포기하지 않았습니다. 그들은 뒤로 물러나는 대신 함께 앞으로 나아갈 방법을 찾기 시작했습니다. 지휘관들의 명령 아래 전사들은 숲과 산에서 거대한 바위와 나무들을 가져오기 시작합니다.
수많은 전사들이 힘을 모아 돌과 나무를 바다 쪽으로 옮겼습니다. 거대한 바위들이 물속에 놓이고, 나무들이 그 위를 이어 가며 조금씩 길의 형태가 만들어지기 시작합니다. 긴 시간 동안 이어진 노력 속에서 다리는 점점 더 먼 바다 위까지 뻗어 나가게 됩니다.
처음에는 불가능해 보였던 일이 조금씩 현실이 되어 갑니다. 마침내 육지와 랑카를 연결하는 긴 다리가 완성되자, 바다 위의 길은 라마의 동맹이 가진 결의와 협력의 상징처럼 보이기 시작합니다.
랑카로 향하는 군대
다리가 완성된 뒤 라마의 군대는 마침내 바다를 건너기 시작합니다. 수많은 원숭이 전사들이 무기와 보급품을 들고 긴 다리 위를 따라 이동합니다. 끝없이 이어지는 군대의 움직임은 바다 위의 길을 전쟁으로 향하는 거대한 행렬로 바꾸어 놓습니다.
군대의 앞쪽에는 라마와 락슈마나, 그리고 하누만이 함께 서 있습니다. 그들은 천천히 앞으로 나아가며 수평선 너머로 보이기 시작한 랑카의 성벽과 탑들을 바라보게 됩니다. 바다 건너편에는 시타가 붙잡혀 있는 왕국과 곧 시작될 전쟁이 기다리고 있었습니다.
군대가 섬에 가까워질수록 분위기 역시 점점 무거워집니다. 시타를 찾기 위해 시작된 긴 여정은 이제 마침내 적과 마주하는 순간 가까이까지 도달하게 된 것입니다. 숲 속의 추방에서 시작된 이야기는 이제 왕국과 왕국이 충돌하는 거대한 전쟁으로 확장됩니다.
바다를 건너는 이 순간은 라마야나에서 중요한 전환점이 됩니다. 지금까지 이야기가 수색과 방랑, 준비의 과정이었다면 이제부터는 본격적인 전쟁과 충돌이 중심이 되기 시작합니다.
전쟁의 준비
라마의 군대가 랑카 가까이 도착하자 곳곳에서 전쟁 준비가 시작됩니다. 전사들은 각자의 위치를 정비하고 무기를 점검하며 다가올 싸움에 대비합니다. 군대 안에는 긴장과 기대가 함께 퍼져 나가고 있었고, 모두가 거대한 전투가 가까워졌다는 사실을 알고 있었습니다.
라마와 동료들은 이번 전쟁이 단순히 시타를 되찾는 일만을 의미하지 않는다는 사실을 이해하고 있었습니다. 이 싸움은 충성과 정의, 자존심과 왕국의 운명까지 연결된 갈등으로 커져 있었기 때문입니다. 전사들은 각자 미래를 바꾸게 될 전투를 준비하게 됩니다.
한편 랑카 안에서도 라바나는 자신의 군대를 전쟁에 대비시키고 있었습니다. 그는 강력한 군대와 견고한 성벽을 믿고 있었으며, 어떤 적도 자신을 무너뜨릴 수 없다고 생각했습니다. 섬 전체는 점점 다가오는 충돌의 긴장으로 가득 차기 시작합니다.
이제 곧 두 군대는 랑카의 성벽 앞에서 서로 마주하게 됩니다. 숲과 산, 바다를 넘어 이어진 긴 여정은 마침내 라마야나 최대의 전쟁이 시작되기 직전의 순간에 도달하게 됩니다.
